The Gobbins

Description

The Gobbins

The Gobbins is a unique coastal experience, a reimagined ‘best kept secret’ along Northern Ireland’s Causeway Coastal Route. Walking the cliff path at The Gobbins will be an exhilarating adventure that will excite all the senses.

The stunning coastal cliff path walk, located in Islandmagee, allows visitors to uncover the once hidden gem of the Antrim coast and indulge in an exhilarating cliff path walk. The Gobbins is a reimagined treasure that has brought what was once a thriving 1900’s hotspot into the 21st century.

The dramatic and challenging two-mile-long cliff-face path includes spectacular tubular and suspension bridges, caves, steps, and tunnels that are all carved through the rock. The Gobbins is a fascinating attraction that is soaked in heritage and offers visitors breath-taking views of the rugged North Coast.

The Gobbins attraction aims to retrieve its title as Northern Ireland’s premier visitor attraction as, in its heyday, it was more popular than the Giant's Causeway.

Along the trail, you will get up close to a diverse range of wildlife and gain privileged access to Northern Ireland’s only mainland colony of puffins, alongside various other bird species.

If you choose not to undertake the cliff path walk, you can discover the tremendous history and heritage of The Gobbins in the new state-of-the-art Visitor Centre. It is free to access and includes a café, an exhibition space, a shop for memorabilia and local crafts, as well as a tourist information point.

Please note, the cliff path walk requires a reasonable level of fitness and there is also a height restriction in place. Pre-booking of the tour is essential. Please book by calling the Gobbins Visitor Centre on 028 9337 2318
