Description
Located in the Hermitage of Don Bosco , another historical point of Brasilia, the Monastery of São Bento is one of the places where priests are dedicated to propagate the Christian faith among the brasilienses. Inspired by the actions of St. Benedict, the place welcomes people in search of self-knowledge and spiritual responses through constant prayers that encourage community participation. In this sense, the Monastery conducts constant activities from Monday to Sunday.
The monastery celebrates a Mass with lauds daily at 6:15 am on Saturdays at 7.15. On Sundays a conventual Mass is celebrated at 10:00 am. The events go from vigils, breakfasts, fare, noa, eve and complete. The schedules of these activities can be consulted through the website www.msbento.org.br .
Bento was born in the city of Nuremnia, near Rome, in 480. He gave himself up to the Christian life after disliking the troubled and confused environment in which he lived. He spent three years in a cave in search of reflection. Years later, he created the Monastery of Monte Cassino, which changed all of Rome's religious routine.
