Description
Bukit Keluang Beach is located some 140 km away from the very north of Kuala Terengganu, and few kilometers south from city of Kuala Besut. It is also known as Dendong Beach Park. The beach is just behind a wooden walkway built through a rocky cave extending to the sea. Bukit Keluang Beach view in this area is one of the most breathtaking and magnificent beach views in Malaysia and is also an ideal site and destination for some water sports such as swimming, snorkeling and wind surfing.
Beside the beach, it also offers a fascinating cave for you to explore and most importantly the view in the cave is very impressive. Bukit Keluang cave can be explored through its entrances which are easily reached by walkways; all you need is a flashlight, good shoes and an adventurous spirit.
Bukit Keluang has some of the best coastal scenery in Malaysia with lovely beaches, a wooden walkway along the cliff edge, sea caves and a 141 meter high hill with a superb view over the South China Sea.
It is located in Terengganu about 6 km south of the town of Kuala Besut which is where travelers can catch boats to the Perhentian Islands.
There is a beach car park which is at the foot of the hill. There are a couple of food stalls located here together with toilets and other facilities.
The main beach curves around a nice bay lined with casuarina trees. There were some gazebos here for picnics and some concrete chairs and tables under the trees.
Getting there:
If you are driving from the north (Kota Bharu) you will pass Kuala Besut and remain on the coast road. The turn off is shortly after Air Tawar (which is another nice beach).
If you coming from the south (Kuala Terengganu) it is located shortly after Kampung Peng.Teras.
